i don't think that you will find a <$100 DVR with BNC ends on it, i don't think that an RCA will come off though, since it will only ever be stuck on once and left, should be tight enough. I think you need an account to buy things at B & E don't you? I've got loads of RG-6, RG-59 and RCA ends we can use.

Very true about the BNC ends, Just me being OCD and stuff :p

I dont think you need an account their, but if so, I have one under my company anyways.
Are your RCA ends the solider and twist-to-cover style?

Yeah, that's what friend of mine did couple of months ago... he is now dealing with a lawsuit... not sure if you want that....

I used to get a lot of road rage.... changed my persnolized plate to a regular one - so far so good... If you have a smart ass plate people seem to get crazy around you...

^ and it is a lot easier for them to remember you. scat's bmw is pretty unique but most regular people wouldn't remember things like black roundels and badges, they would just see it as any other red 3 series coup. i had a road rage incident 3 years ago close to my house, and since you can see my place from hamptons blvd and country hills i was reallllllyyyyy worried this asshole would drive by and see my car and do something to it since I had to park outside at the time. nothing happened thankfully.

the guy cut me off, i honked at him, he gave me the finger, i gave it back, he bake checked me and i just backed off after that, he turned off into a neightbourhood and i had to stop in traffic at the lights, at which point he stopped next to me and started yelling at me, i rolled my window down and called him an asshole, then told him that I thought his mom's minivan was cute (he was in a gold colored minivan with a flower hanging from the rear-view, he looked about 17). at which point 3 other big teenagers opened the sliding doors and wanted to fight. fuck that!!!! i took off.

Just any other red coupe? Red is rare on BMW's! :pimp:

Is it hard to make custom length wires? That would make life so much easier. The forward facing camera has to be wired to the trunk somehow... the route I have yet to decide.

Everyone puts the units and whatnot in their glovebox, and I don't want to do that. I have a small cubby above the rear CD changer in the trunk, and that's where I want to put the items. The GPS antenna would sit on the rear shelf behind the back seats.

It would be really clean and you wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking.....

I just prefer to solider. Call me old school but it makes me feel better knowing its permanently secured.

Its not that hard to make custom cables. its easier than wrapping a bunch of coil and trying to hide it.

Remember when running the video cable from the front to the back, your going to want to run down the drivers side of the car to stay away from 12v Power main that will cause video interference with the camera feed.

I've got some quad shield RG-6, that stuff works very well to cut interference, i don't think the 12v main line will cause too much interference if you're at least a couple inches away, it's not like 110 in homes. We've started using these compression ends made by monster, they're very high quality, we've used them on $100,000 home theaters for component video links, no quality issues at all and I have never seen one come off, they're on there for good i couldnt pull one off if i tried. and scat, its very easy to make custom cables, a lot easier than fishing a cable through the car that already has a big bulky end on it, and it is cheaper too. and im saying its just any other coupe to a regular person haha, most people don't pay any attention to the details, and most people don't know that red is somewhat rare. that said, my next door neighbor has a red 330 coup haha.

Yeah I did, its a bitch in a 4 door. no idea how you could get the headliner out in a coupe......
That would be the best way, you can always just drop the headliner half way in the car and re-install it once wired.

Bump.

After a TON of searching, found something that is a decent price compared to a pieced together unit, and it has a TON of features! 3 cameras, GPS speed, Shock sensor information, google maps integration.....

or a cheaper, all in one solution

haha true true.

I'm saving the mechanical for an M in the future, the 330 is just not worth it to dump money into. I guess I'm trying to save my "manliness", because it sounds bad that I'm not doing too much performance wise.

If did mechanical to this car, it would be a TechniqueTuning turbo (325WHP), Kaaz LSD, KW V3, Brembo 355MM BBK and a light 17" track wheel :)

$500 bucks for what you get for that package is pretty decent. and seems like you could hide all that stuff pretty good.
