Hello, New to the forum, but not to BMW's. Im glad to have finally found an Alberta BMW Forum. I was pretty active on United Bimmer for a long time and lurk on Bimmerforums a lot, but an Alberta forum is definitley a plus.
I currently have a 1998 E36 328i sedan, in Canyonrot Metallic. I originally bought the car in May 2005, and have had it ever since. It was originally from Ontario and spend its first few years their. I drove the car until November of 2009 when i had few issues with it. Unfortunatley at the time my wife was 8 months pregnant with my son so fixing it was not an option at the time. The hood release latch had broken and the dealership had quoted me $800 to fix it. As well the door actuators were malfunctioning which the dealership wanted to charge me $200 per door, just to take the door panel off. It also has a set o Koni Adjustable springs and shocks, and the one in the right rear snapped. I always get a quote from the dealer then price shop around, but at the time it was just to expensive going into Christmas and having a new baby on the way.
Thankfully i have a loving wife and a new daily driver. The car has been in storage since 2009 and now i have a little more cash flow coming in so she has given me the okay to restore it to its former roadworthyness. Of course, i cant own a stock vehicle. Its a natural instict for me to mod a vehicle, and i have done such with this.
Currently the vehicle sports the following:
- 18" ASA AR1 rims, with BFG rubber
- Koni Yellow Adjustable springs/shocks
- M3 OEM bumper
- M3 mirrors (heated)
- Euro One Piece headlights
- Depo foglights
- Jim Conforti CF CAI
- UUC Motorworks underdrive pulleys.
- Headlight Eyebrows
And of course, this would not be completed without pictures. All of the pictures here are older, from 2006 to 2007. I have a picture of how it sits now but its still on my phone. (Click on the pictures to enlarge them)
Here it is stock back in summer of 2005

This is it with the M3 bumper and one Ipeice headlights. Did not have the M3 mirrors on at this time. Mid 2006.

Here is the Jim Conforti CF CAI

Here is a later picture, around 2007 i believe. It has the M3 mirrors and the 18" rims on it. It no longer has the Velocity Splitters as one of them was ripped off due to the low clearance

The suspension has settled since this picture was taken, and it sits about an inch lower then as it is seen their. I kinda prefer it to sit like that, as it didnt rub the fenders.
And of course, the Bimmerfest Edition Tunerworks sticker! Some people may have seen it at Bimmerfest in 2006. However it did not have the M3 bumper on at the time, and a bent kidney grille from someones ball hitch.

I finally have an extra garage space so im hoping it wont take too long to get back into shape. It is in really good shape minus some paint chipping on the passenger front whIeel arch from the 18's and a small bit of rust on the rear quarter panel by the wheel. Some a$$hole keyed it from passenger door all the way to rear quarter panel, but it looks like ill be able to get it buffed out without having to get it repainted. My goal is to get it running and get done what i want with it by June. Some things i would like to do is the M50 manifold/throttle body swap, M3 or Remus exhaust, Jim Conforti chip. It all depends on how long my wife will let me keep it for once she see's the cost of it.

I wanted to supercharge it but i realised it still wouldnt be as fast as an M3!
Hope you like it!
