Post Saying Hi as a Noob!
:thanks: Hi I was doing a search online to find out what kind of shops in the Calgary area may cater to BMW needs and I found that there was an Alberta forum for BMW lovers and jumped at the chance to be part of the community.
My name is Greg Wayne and I drive a 2006 E46 M3 which has been stuffed into a 2002 330CI body. If that doesn't make sense I'm sorry but it seems like the easiest way to describe it LOL.
I caught the BMW bug about 7 years ago when I bought my first E36 325i as I have always been a manual rear wheel drive guy and hey it seemed right to me.
After that I bought a used 2008 335i and kept that for 2years but really wanted the full meal deal with the LSD of the M cars and all they have to offer.
So here I am enjoying my new to me E46 M3 and eager to share the up and downs of ownership in my own city of Calgary.
See you on the forum and Thank you for making this great place!
Greg (Friguy)

Welcome to the forum. So now your explanation about the car is needed. Do it yourself? Bought that way etc. Why?
Inquiring mind wants to know.

Welcome to PT.

Interested to see what you mean when you say you stuffed a M3 into the 330.

I guess I've been too busy for the last while and haven't been back. Sorry for the very late reply. I actually didn't expect so many responses to my noob post lol.
Well the short but still kind of long version of the story on my 330ci M3 is that I bought it with the swap done. (Full swap too including alldash suspension rear end etc)I only had a few options as far a what I could spend on a car so I was fishing in the low range of E46 M3's. Which usually means high mileage or poor maintenance. However I found an ad with this swapped car and it said it only had 68,000km. The donor car (from what the owner told me as well as from the ECU) was a 2006 competition pack M3 that was written off. In what way he didn't know. But after a drive and some days of thinking and chatting with the owner I bought it for $9000.00. It came Plasti Dipped white (Like the pic in my first post) which had become quite dirty so I've peeled that off and I'm back to the Titanium Silver. I've done a full Vanos (Besian) update on my own and now I'm looking to do the Sub frame reinforcement and bushings. But I'm not up to doing that job myself as I no longer have a garage after I moved a few months ago. Plus I'm just not up to it lol. So I'm looking for an independent that knows these cars and has some reasonable rates. Car runs great and I love this balanced machine but I want to keep it for years to come so I've got to do what she needs.posting.php?mode=reply&f=17&t=8638#
